Hypnotherapy can have a powerful impact on our minds, enabling behavioural differences. Through hypnosis; an inner state of focused attention, we can remove resistance and create change on a deep, formative level, change that lasts.
What is Hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy is a fast-acting listening and talking therapy that combines a variety of tools tailored your personality and needs, to achieve a desired specific outcome. Through hypnosis, your unconscious mind quickly and easily makes positive changes to your attitudes, behaviours and habits, changing your thought patterns and feelings for so many issues. Hypnotherapy is non-invasive and has no side effects. And as its a brief form of therapy it is typically more affordable than other therapies such as counselling. Whats more, it can easily be learnt and practiced at home.
Benefits of Hypnotherapy
We all have issues that we would like to address. You can either do what you have always done and get the same results, or you can seek help to make those changes.
Hypnotherapy is very effective in breaking old undesirable habits and replacing them with positive behaviours. It is used to increase positive states of mind, to increase confidence, remove depression and raise your overall level of happiness and enjoyment of life.
Thoughts - Hypnotherapy can help those who suffer from low self-esteem, or obsessive thoughts about someone or something. For example, they may not be able to rid their minds of the idea that a partner is unfaithful, or that they are suffering from an illness despite medical reassurance. Hypnotherapy can help them banish such obsessions.
Emotional Difficulties - many people suffer from a wide variety of distressing feelings such as anxiety, stress, panic attacks, anxiety, jealousy, guilt, anger or inadequacy. Whatever the feeling, hypnotherapy can offer an effective, natural treatment without any unpleasant side effects.
Fears and Phobias - Many often experience an irrational fear of a variety of insects, animals, objects or situations. Hypnotherapy is renowned for its effectiveness in helping sufferers overcome these distressing and inhibiting conditions.
Habits and Addictive Behaviours - People can find themselves in the grip of habits or patterns they seem unable to control, from over eating, nail-biting or smoking to more deep-seated compulsions. Hypnotherapy can help them overcome such habits.
What to Expect in a Hypnotherapy Session?
I can provide sessions in my therapy room or remotely over Zoom. We have an initial consultation where we discuss your medical history and needs and agree a plan of action. If you suffer from depression, epilepsy or asthma I will need your GP's consent to work with you and will write to your surgery Practice Manager Requesting this.
A hypnotherapy session typically lasts for 1 hour. During a hypnotherapy session I ask that you find a comfortable position, maybe lying down on a couch, or seated in a chair in a quiet room free from interruptions. If working remotely then calming music may help you to relax if you want to have it on low in the background. The main thing is for you to be as comfortable as possible and to be able to hear my voice.
Hypnosis is entering an altered state of awareness. It is a natural state that we find ourselves in, many times every day without even realising. Even driven somewhere and arrived not remembering the journey? You've been on autopilot? Thats hypnosis!
Hypnosis takes both your body and mind into a deep level of relaxation. I gently lead you through a deep relaxation and positive visualisations. You will go into a relaxed state, but will be fully aware of your surroundings, and what is being said to you. chat with your subconscious mind and then awaken you. You may remember some things or you may not. You remain in complete control at all times, I am simply guiding you through a deep relaxation.
The most common experience is an almost immediate release of stress and a feeling of deep relaxation.Everyone responds to Hypnotherapy differently. Sometimes the experience is dramatic after just on session, for the majority of people a 3 or 4 sessions are required.
At the end of a session/treatment plan we will agree next steps. I will email through a recording of your session so that you can continue therapy at home. As we work collaboratively it is important that you undertake any actions we agree before the next session.
As an integrative therapist, I blend various therapies, such as Hypnotherapy, EFT, and NLP, into a flexible treatment plan tailored to your specific challenges.A thorough consultation is always required beforehand. Treatment plans remain adaptable to address issues that arise between or during sessions.
